A Unesco world heritage site since 1994, Bwindi impenetrable national park is covers 321 square miles. Bwindi is famous for the largest collection of gorillas in the world and is home to over 450 gorillas an endangered species. The famous residents have overshadowed the other equally magnificent offerings from Bwindi; these include: butterflies, reptiles of all sorts, various birds and over 200 different species of trees. For those enamored by the gorillas you have the habituation option which lets you spend more time with our cousins these can last from three hours to the entire day. Gorilla permits in Uganda cost USD 700 effective July 2020 for foreign non-residents, USD 600 for foreign residents.
